It was only 3 blocks from the main square (Arturo Prat) and close to the old sector (Baquedano) and Naval Museum (and passenger wharf).

The (downtown) area is rough and not safe at all. The room was noisy at night from both cars and drunken people fighting and yelling outside at night (there are a number of strip clubs in the surrounding streets). The room looked like it hadn't been painted this century and there were broken tiles, hanging wires and rust in the bathtub. Also there were three drawers missing in the "kitchen" leaving the dirty area under the sink in plain view. Totally not at all like appears on their website. Oh and the price gets bumped up if you pay in Pesos Chilenos (and not dollars).
